"I have to admit I was skeptical that it would be something that all of my girls would enjoy, but they make working out fun. They give modifications for everything so people of all levels of fitness can enjoy it! The staff is Amazing, always make us feel very welcome and ready to bring it!" Stephanie G.
"These people are amazing :) my first class was today and I can't wait to go back. It's not just a fun class to be cute with boxing gloves. Lol. It is HARD WORK ! The atmosphere is very contagious. The instructors are lovable and badass.
Be ready to be sore!" Ri S.
"Yes, this class will make you sweat, as most good exercise classes do. Yes, there will be loud music and trainers yelling motivating things and giving high fives after each exercise. Yes, this is a new studio figuring out some operational challenges. But what this also means is there are incredible deals right now (I got a Groupon for 10 classes and gloves for less than $50) and you get to join a fitness community as it's being built.
I am not one that usually enjoys loud music, excessive high fives, and group spirit but it works here. The teachers are genuine and the owner is super nice and friendly. I LOVE feeling stronger and finally learning how to throw a good punch and land a kick. That is my favorite thing - learning a skill while also getting a great workout.
Each class starts with a 20 min. HIT workout with cardio, lunges, ab work, etc. It's not fun and has nothing to do with kickboxing but I would never do this much cardio without someone forcing me to so for me it's a win. You end with stretching and then get started with bag work. The routines are similar - variations of jab crosses, hooks, front kicks and roundhouse kicks. They demo each time which is helpful to get the routine down but I relied on the trainers coaching me through the moves in my first classes to make sure my form was right. I do wish they spent more time on how to avoid injuries especially for us boxing newbies. You end with partner exercises of continuous punches and kicks to work on form. I found this to be a great arm-targeting workout.
Every class ends with everyone stretching and chatting in the middle. It's a nice friendly way to end but some teachers do an awkward call out of people who aren't members. I get the purpose but it's uncomfortable for it to happen every time and I personally would prefer a private conversation. But a small downside to an otherwise amazing workout. And I love my gloves :) For a limited time they have pink ones!" Jennifer D.
